2011 ONECA Conference

“Indian Control of Indian Education: A Legacy for Change”

The 27th Annual Ontario Native Education Counselling Association Conference “Indian Control of Indian Education: A Legacy for Change” was held at the Courtyard Marriott, Downtown Toronto, Ontario on May 17th, 18th, and 19th, 2011.

The three day event attracted 215 participants including guests, vendors and facilitators. Everyone had the opportunity to take advantage of the workshops, venues, keynotes and vendor booths. The agenda was very accommodating and had topics that were appealing to everyone regardless of profession.

In total, we had 148 registered participants with representation from all districts. The group was very perse with representation from a variety of professions such as: school board trustees, teachers, counsellors, First Nation Education Directors, students and other support workers.
